These minerals cause defects in building blocks, which lead to cracks and other problems in buildings and homes constructed with the defective blocks.<\/p><p data-block-key=\"c2nnz\">Mica was mainly found in quarries in the north west of Ireland and some properties in this area are affected by it. Pyrite caused similar problems in buildings in the east of Ireland.<\/p><p data-block-key=\"edj3r\">There are schemes in place to repair or rebuild homes that have been affected by mica and pyrite.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4ff2be6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4ff2be6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What is the Enhanced Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme?\n<\/h4>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b70e873 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b70e873\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-block-key=\"5h8q3\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ie\/en\/service\/8002e-enhanced-defective-concrete-blocks-grant-scheme\/?referrer=http:\/\/www.gov.ie\/defectiveconcreteblocks\/\">Enhanced Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme<\/a>\u00a0provides financial support to people, so they can fix properties that have been damaged by the use of defective concrete blocks.
