Enhanced Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme

We develop creative, comprehensive, and sustainable engineering solutions for a future where society can thrive.

Enhanced Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme

The Enhanced Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme is a grant scheme to support affected homeowners to remediate their dwellings, where their dwelling has been damaged by the use of defective concrete blocks in its construction in counties Clare, Donegal, Limerick, and Mayo.

The scheme provides financial support to affected homeowners in designated counties whose dwelling had been damaged by the use of defective concrete blocks in its construction.

The grant scheme provides five remedial options, and the maximum grant approved for each remedial option was determined by the grant rates approved by the Minister subject to the overall grant cap of €420,000. The specific amount granted will vary from home to home depending on the determination by the Housing Agency. The maximum grant payable will be 100% of the approved grant amount or 100% of the actual vouched cost of the qualifying works carried out, whichever amount is less.

Mark Tubridy of Tubridy Engineering Ltd is on the Engineer’s Ireland IS 465 (Concrete Blocks and Mica) – Register for Building Condition Assessors and has the required qualifications and experience to undertake Building Condition Assessments (BCA) reports for applications to the Enhanced Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme.
